Umrah 2026 Just Reopened: 7 Facts Before You Book

Masjid al-Haram Kaaba Makkah and Masjid Nabawi Madīnah post-Hajj, Umrah 2026 Pakistan season reopen guide

A father in Bahadurabad checked the Nusuk app three times in one night last week.

Not because anything was wrong.

Because the season had just reopened, and he wanted to be sure the dates were real before he told his mother she was finally going.

Here is the thing he didn’t know.

The rules changed this year. The visa window shrank. The airspace overhead is still under a caution bulletin. And the difference between a calm trip and a stranded one now comes down to how the whole thing was put together, not just where you stayed.

So before you wire money to anyone, read this.

Umrah Season For 1448 AH Reopened On May 31, 2026

Quick answer: the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah set the season open dates already.

Gulf Business reports that Umrah visa issuance and pilgrim arrivals began on May 31, 2026, and that pilgrims could enter Makkah and get permits through the Nusuk app starting June 1, 2026.

The same calendar sets the final date for issuing Umrah visas at March 9, 2027, with entry permitted until March 23, 2027.

That matters for you for one reason.

The post-Hajj months, Muharram and the weeks after, are the quietest and often the calmest of the whole year. Hajj 2026 has finished. The crowds have thinned. If you have been waiting, this is the window families are booking into right now.

The Visa Entry Window Shrank To 30 Days In 2026

This is the change most people miss.

Under the updated 2026 rules, Wego reports that you must enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days of your visa being issued, reduced from the old 90 days, and once inside you can stay up to 90 days.

Read that again.

Thirty days. Not ninety.

If an agent gets your visa issued too early, before your hotels and flights are locked, the clock starts ticking and the visa can lapse before you ever board. The visa now has to line up tightly with confirmed bookings. There is no slack.

Pakistanis Cannot Apply On Nusuk Directly

Here is a fact that trips up first-timers.

Wego notes that pilgrims from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh cannot apply for a standalone Umrah visa directly on Nusuk. The application has to run through a Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah licensed agent who lodges it for you.

You still register on Nusuk yourself once the visa is issued, because permits and mosque entry, including Rawdah appointments in Madinah, are managed only through the app.

So the question is not whether you use an agent. You have to.

The question is what kind of operation that agent runs once something goes sideways at 2am Makkah time.

Don’t Skip The Vaccines

MenACWY vaccine certificate for Saudi Arabia travel, Umrah 2026 Pakistan mandatory vaccination

This one is non-negotiable and people still forget it.

Wego confirms the MenACWY meningococcal vaccine remains mandatory for every pilgrim aged one and above for the 2026 season.

A separate VisaWise guide adds that the MenACWY shot must be taken at least 10 days before arrival, and that the polio vaccine is required for travelers from Pakistan.

Carry the certificate. Physical or on the Nusuk app. They check.

The airspace above your flight is still under caution

Now the part nobody in the package brochures will tell you.

The Gulf is open. Your flight will almost certainly operate. But it is not back to normal peacetime conditions, and pretending otherwise is how families get caught.

EASA’s current Middle East bulletin was extended on June 24, 2026 to stay valid until July 1, 2026, advising operators to exercise caution across the Jeddah FIR and several Gulf airspaces.

The same bulletin explains why. A US-Iran ceasefire first announced on April 8 was extended for a further 60 days through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 17, 2026. The region moved from active conflict to heightened tension, with short violations still possible near the Strait of Hormuz.

In plain language: flights are running, but schedules can shift on short notice.

This is where Rahat’s background does real work. She spent years inside Qatar Airways, routing through exactly these corridors. When she looks at your itinerary, she is not just picking the cheapest fare. She is reading which routing has the most rebooking options if a flight gets pushed. That is not in any package.

Crowds And Prices Swing Hard By Season

Al-Masjid an-Nabawi piazza umbrellas post-Hajj quiet season, Umrah 2026 Pakistan best time

A simple table, because this is the decision most families get wrong.

SeasonWhat it feels likeCost
RamadanMost spiritual, equal to Hajj in reward per hadithHighest. Prices can double or triple in the last 10 days
Post-Hajj (Muharram, Safar)The quietest months of the yearLowest demand, calmest Haram
Rabi al-Awwal onwardDemand climbs againMid to high

VisaWise notes that Ramadan prices can double or triple in the last 10 days, while the months right after Hajj are the quietest.

If your goal is a calm trip with elderly parents and small kids, the window that just opened is the one to book.

A Package Can’t Flex. Your Family Needs Flex This Year.

Here is what a fixed package does when the airspace bulletin causes a flight to move.

Nothing. It hands you a local operator number and tells you to sort it out on the ground.

Here is the trip we build instead.

Your visa timed to your confirmed hotels, so the 30-day clock never beats you.
Your Nusuk registration walked through, not left to chance.
Your routing chosen for rebooking options, not just price.
A direct line to the people who built the trip, answering at 2am Makkah time, because your flight doesn’t wait for office hours.

We have never sold a package. Every Umrah trip we build is shaped around your family. Their pace. Their parents. Their dates.

See how we put it together on our process page, or read the origin story of why we refuse the template model. When you’re ready, start planning your Umrah trip and tell us your dates.

Frequently Asked Questions

When did Umrah 2026 reopen for Pakistani pilgrims?

Umrah visa issuance and pilgrim arrivals for the 1448 AH season began on May 31, 2026, according to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Pilgrims can enter Makkah and obtain permits through the Nusuk app starting June 1, 2026. The final date for issuing Umrah visas is March 9, 2027.

How long do I have to enter Saudi Arabia after my Umrah visa is issued?

Under the updated 2026 rules, you must enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days of your visa being issued, reduced from the previous 90 days. Once inside, you can stay for up to 90 days. This is why your visa should be timed to confirmed flights and hotels.

Can Pakistanis apply for an Umrah visa directly on Nusuk?

No. Pilgrims from Pakistan cannot apply for a standalone Umrah visa directly on Nusuk. The application must go through a Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah licensed agent. You still register on Nusuk yourself once the visa is issued, because permits and mosque entry are managed only through the app.

Is it safe to fly to Saudi Arabia for Umrah right now?

Saudi airports are open and commercial flights are operating. However, EASA’s Middle East airspace bulletin was extended to July 1, 2026, advising caution across the Jeddah FIR and Gulf airspaces following the US-Iran ceasefire extended on June 17, 2026. Flights run but schedules can change on short notice, so flexible routing matters this year.

Plan My Trip

Umrah season is open. The post-Hajj window is the calmest of the year, and the 30-day visa clock rewards families who book before they leave it too late.

Tell us your dream Umrah trip. Your first custom quote is free, within 24 hours, zero pressure.

P.S. The 30-day entry window is the single most common reason a visa lapses before departure. We time issuance to your confirmed bookings so the clock never beats you. That alone is worth a conversation before you pay anyone.

P.P.S. With the EASA bulletin still in effect, the routing matters as much as the hotel this year. Rahat reads itineraries for rebooking options, not just fares. Message us on WhatsApp. We respond within 30 minutes.
