Turkey’s Nomad Visa Lists 36 Countries. Not Pakistan

Istanbul's mosques along the Bosphorus, the entry point for travelers facing the Turkey digital nomad visa Pakistan gap

Thirty-six.

That’s how many nationalities can apply for Turkey’s digital nomad visa.

Pakistan isn’t one of them.

You can read the list yourself on the government’s own page. GoTürkiye’s digital nomad requirements page names France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the UK, the US, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and most of the EU. Scroll the whole thing. Your passport is not there.

And yet half the roundup blogs floating around this year say “Pakistan eligible.”

They’re wrong. If you’ve already saved a sea-view flat in Bodrum on your phone and started budgeting the move, this is the part you need to know before you pay anyone an application fee.

What Turkey’s Nomad Visa Actually Asks For

Nationality is the first filter, not income. Everything else only matters after your passport clears.

The published conditions are straightforward. Applicants must be between 21 and 55 years old and hold an eligible nationality, per the official GoTürkiye criteria. Afar’s breakdown of the program adds the money and paperwork side: at least $3,000 a month earned from a company outside Türkiye or from self-employment, a university degree, and a passport valid six months past arrival. Approved nomads get up to a year, renewable.

Great terms. A Karachi product designer billing US clients clears that income bar without breaking a sweat.

Doesn’t matter. The nationality line comes first, and it’s a wall.

So What Does A Pakistani Passport Actually Get For Turkey?

Cave hotel courtyard in Cappadocia, the longer stay open to Pakistani travelers on a tourist visa

A tourist visa. Two ways to get one, and only one of them is online.

The Turkish Embassy in Islamabad spells it out. Its official info note says ordinary Pakistani passport holders need a visa to enter Turkey, and that a one-month single-entry e-Visa is available online only if you already hold a valid Schengen, USA, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit. No supporting visa? Then it’s a sticker visa, applied for in person through the authorised visa application centres inside Pakistan.

Two more lines from that same page matter more than people realise:

  1. The e-Visa is one month, single entry. Not 90 days. Not multi-entry. One month, one entry.
  2. The e-Visa is valid only for tourism or commerce. Work and study visas come from the Embassy or Consulates, not the online portal.

Read that second point again if you were planning to “just work quietly on a tourist visa for three months.”

Nobody is telling you to give up on Turkey. Autumn in Cappadocia with a laptop and a month of foreign-client work is still one of the best deals a Pakistani freelancer can buy. You just have to build it on the visa that exists instead of the one a blog invented.

The Lead Time Is The Thing That Will Actually Cost You

Sticker visa applicants submit in person, with documents, at a visa application centre. That takes a slot. Slots take weeks. December is the biggest outbound window Pakistani families have after summer, and everyone in your building is chasing the same appointment calendar.

So the honest planning rule for the winter break: start the paperwork now, not in November.

If you want someone to build the trip around your visa timeline instead of the other way round, tell us your dream trip on the plan page or skip the form entirely and message us.

The Routing Risk Nobody’s Costing In

Rahat spent years inside Qatar Airways operations before she and Ali started Zaviamo, and this is exactly the kind of thing she flags before a booking, not after.

Karachi to Istanbul usually connects through a Gulf hub. Gulf airspace is not behaving normally right now. Gulf News reported on 9 September 2026 that the European Union Aviation Safety Agency extended its conflict-zone information bulletin covering the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman through 30 September, with airlines rerouting and running rolling schedule changes, and that Dubai passengers are being asked to arrive four hours before departure.

Translation for your trip: build buffer into the connection, avoid nonrefundable ground bookings on arrival day, and check status the morning of, not the night before. That’s not fear. That’s just how you book during a volatile month.

Nomad Visas That Do Accept A Pakistani Passport

If the goal is a legal long stay rather than Turkey specifically, the door is open elsewhere. Visa List’s 2026 guide for Pakistani passport holders names UAE, Thailand, Cyprus, Seychelles and Romania among the countries with remote-work routes available to Pakistanis, with Malaysia listed among the top Asian options.

Three of those we actually plan trips to: Thailand, Malaysia and the UAE. Recce first, commit later. Two weeks in Chiang Mai or Penang tells you more about whether you can work from there than six months of Reddit threads.

Why A Package Can’t Solve This

Colorful harbor village in the Aegean, the kind of custom stop a fixed Turkey package leaves out | Turkey digital nomad visa Pakistan

A package agency sells you seven nights and six days in Istanbul and Cappadocia. Fixed hotels. Fixed transfers. Fixed exit date.

You don’t want that. You want twenty-six days, one apartment base with real upload speed, a mosque within walking distance, a coworking day pass you can cancel, and an itinerary that leaves Tuesday and Thursday mornings clear because that’s when your clients call.

No brochure has a box for that.

Ali found this out the hard way trying to add one extra day in Cappadocia to a Karachi agency’s package and being told the package doesn’t allow it. Rahat, his wife and co-founder, called it what it was: they’re in the reselling business, not the travel business. That conversation is why Zaviamo exists, and why we’ve never sold a package.

Your trip, not a template. Start with our Turkey planning page and tell us the visa you actually hold.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Pakistani citizens apply for Turkey’s digital nomad visa in 2026?

No. Turkey’s digital nomad program is limited to the nationalities published on the official GoTürkiye page, which lists 36 countries including EU states, the UK, the US, Canada, Russia and Ukraine. Pakistan is not on that list, so Pakistani passport holders cannot apply through this route regardless of income.

What Turkey visa can a Pakistani passport holder get instead?

A tourist visa. According to the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad, ordinary Pakistani passport holders can get a one-month single-entry e-Visa online only if they hold a valid Schengen, USA, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit. Everyone else applies for a sticker visa in person at an authorised visa application centre in Pakistan.

Can I work remotely from Turkey on a Turkish e-Visa?

The Turkish Embassy in Islamabad states that the e-Visa is valid only when the purpose of travel is tourism or commerce, and that visas for work and study are issued by the Embassy or Consulates. Treat a tourist visa as a short stay, not a work base, and get proper advice before planning anything longer.

When should I start a Turkey visa application for the December break?

Start now. Sticker visa applications need an in-person appointment at a visa application centre, and appointment slots tighten sharply ahead of the winter school break. Building the application timeline before you book flights is the safer order.

Turkey in late autumn and December is quieter, cheaper and far better for anyone working across time zones. The visa route is narrower than the internet claims, but it exists, and it’s workable if you start early.

Start planning your Turkey trip on WhatsApp. Your first custom quote is free, within 24 hours, zero pressure.

P.S. The single most expensive mistake here isn’t the visa fee. It’s booking nonrefundable flights for December and then discovering your visa appointment lands in January. Tell us your dates first, and we’ll build the plan backwards from the paperwork. Plan my Turkey trip on WhatsApp.

P.P.S. If Turkey’s visa route doesn’t fit your passport situation this winter, say so in the first message. Thailand and Malaysia are open, and we’ll cost both against Istanbul before you commit a rupee.
